Equities – Another Stream of Passive Income for Life?

For the longest time now, this blog has been focusing on online income. And in the past month or so, I have been writing about generating free traffic online. Whilst I work on my free report and product on traffic generation, I’ll shift the focus a little from “online income” to a familiar topic/area to most people who wants to generate passive income.

Equities

Or in other words, stocks, investments etc.
Investment in equities is the most common way for people to earn a passive income for life. It is how most people are saving for their retirement as well. Be it 401K in the US or CPF in Singapore, the average people like you and me use these retirement funds to invest and grow them for our old age.

Despite the widespread knowledge that equities are a good means to generate income, it is surprising to find out that many people are not ‘investment-savvy’ enough in understanding how they work. For most of us, we outsource financial planning to others so we can focus on doing our job well. Whilst that is not wrong, it is always encouraged to know at least the basics on how such instruments work to provide for our retirement.

The recent economic turmoil has caused some angst – retirees have to defer retirement because they find that their nest egg is significantly reduced, people have suffered great losses on their stocks portfolio and more to come, some would have to go through paycuts and even retrenchment.

In the following 2 months, I would be focusing on one other facet of this blog on earning a passive income – equities/stock investing. Hopefully it would be an aid to my readers to pick up some knowledge on investments and decide what is best.

In the coming post, I’ll chart the direction and major topics in how to invest. Do drop me a comment if there are any particular aspects you are keen to know about and I would try to incorporate it into my blogging plan.
