Free Traffic Part 7: Site Aggregators
For this installment on the series on generating free traffic for your website, we will talk about using site aggregators to pull in massive automatic traffic to you. It is one of my favourite ways of drawing traffic due to its ‘passive nature’.
Whilst at first glance, you might wonder what is the difference between site aggregators and site directories. Besides, both of them just put all registered sites together for people to come and take a look. To me I separate them with 2 distinctions.
1) A Site Directory merely acts as a listing for your blog, generating a backlink. People have to actively search for your website by looking through the listing.
2) A Site Aggregator is an ACTIVE service that pings your website for recent updates to draw attention to.
There are currently a few aggregators I use and they provide consistent traffic as long I post regularly.
I’m sure that there are more out there and that more of these services will surface over time. Do you have any more to recommend?
