Free Traffic Part 9 – Emails

The average person sends about 5 emails a day and receives about 30 (not including spam). Maybe you receive a lot more, especially if you are seeking to earn an income online. This 2 figures will continue increasing as the years go by and the internet gets more integrated into our lifestyle.

In this final installation of the Free Traffic Generation Series, we will touch on using emails as part of your traffic generation strategy. And that does not mean spamming because I’m against such tactics. Spamming is bad for reputation in the long run and it does not add value as it wastes everyone’s time.

How to use Email as a Traffic Generation Strategy?

  1. Signature Links
With most email services (Yahoo mail) and clients (like Microsoft Outlook), there is an option to include signatures. What you can do is insert your website link under your sign-off name. For every mail you send out, there is at least one person who is exposed to your link.
  2. Forwarding
There are entertainment mails or quotes that people sometimes send to their friends. Or maybe some viral video. Email forwarding (please.. meaningful stuff only) can create massive exposure for your website if you include the link in those emails and have others forwarding it to their friends. Even better if your website is related to the email content.
  3. Content relation
If there is a mail that you send out that relates to what you have on your website, feel free to include it into your email as a link. Disguise it as a link that will give others more information. Redirecting readers to a site where content is already written helps in saving time and generating traffic. It saves you from repeating yourself.

Are there more ideas you can think of in using your email to generate traffic?

This concludes the Free Traffic Generation Series. I hope you found the series usefull. I will continue to research more into other various ways of generating traffic (free ones!) and share them with you on this blog. So do keep a lookout for “upgrades”!

Success to your traffic generation endeavours!
