Get Paid to Leave your Computer On?

I have always been looking for ways to optimize my time online or have multiple uses for the tools I have. With that mindset, it is always a part of me to be on the look out for programs that uses the excessive computer cycles on my laptop to churn a little bit of money. A fair bit of research has gone into it on my part.

There have been scams in the past like PPCappraisal where a syndicate allows users to install a program to perform click fraud in exchange for money. Of course they pay only a small fraction of what they earn. It does seem alluring to be able to just leave the computer on and let the program click your way to riches. But you know such things are not sustainable. Fortunately or unfortunately, they grew too big because of referrals and incessant clicking on ads. Companies wonder why their ads don’t convert and costs escalate. This led to ad providers to clam down on such scams. If you do a search on PPCappraisal, you can see the remanents of referral websites but a shutdown of the host domain they were referring to.

Well, there are other programs that utilizes your excess computing power but does not pay. It’s more for charity where research is done for diseases or space exploration which needs immense computing power. They use grid computing where servers pool data processed from volunteer computers. One program is the World Community Grid where research is done for the benefit of humanity. I used to run a United Devices program that does the same thing but I switched here because of a better platform called the Boinc which allows you to participate in different programs including climate prediction. So far all of these are on a volunteer basis but I am on the lookout and am confident that there will be a ‘get paid’ program for the masses sometime in the future.

The only get-paid-to-leave-your-computer-on program is Gomez Peer.

In one of my post sometime back with regards to the program, I have highlighted a summary of what Gomez Peer all about. Till this date, it is very reliable and reputable .. and the only one of its kind.

In another article on a grid computing website, it highlights very well on what Gomez Peer does and what the holding company does. Do give a good read if you are interested. Most of all, if you are interested, you can sign up by clicking on this link.

If there are any get-paid-to-leave-your-computer-on programs in the future, I’ll definitely list them in this blog. So do keep a lookout.

Success to you!
