SurveyScout is one of the more popular survey aggregators online today. It’s affiliate program is one of the most promoted due to the extensive support they have for affiliates.
But is SurveyScout for everybody?
One thing to ask first is: Why the heck anyone would need to pay money in the first place to get surveys to take, which in turn will help him/her earn money? To find out, I paid $34.95 to find out why is this so in the first place.
After receiving access to the website, I immediately understood why there was a fee in the first place. SurveyScout is (what i have mentioned in the 1st paragraph) an aggregator. Essentially, you pay for the service in which SurveyScout consolidates all the major and most profitable survey companies in the world today. Instead of hunting them down one by one, the common man can access one site to find most of them and do a quick registration. And this lists gets updated frequently.
Whilst SurveyScout does guarantee that you would definitely earn cash, the interested party must consider some factors before enrolling into this program. Here are some considerations for you before you purchase the program:
1. Are you located in US or UK?
Most of the survey companies in SurveyScout are based in those countries and hence some of them limit their services to citizens. Locals would have most benefit if you stay in US or UK because you have more companies to register with.
2. Are you ok with non-cash prizes?
Some companies only give out redemption coupons or non-cash prizes. And often, they are located in the host countries they are in. For international SurveyScout members, do note this and register with companies that pays globally. Citizens have more advantage but there are many companies to benefit from still.
3. Do you like doing surveys?
The most important factor. Some surveys take more than 20mins to fill in depending on the length. Often, the longer the survey, the more you are paid. If you find that survey taking is too boring or not your cup of tea, maybe you ought to find another income stream. One consoling factor is that SurveyScout provides a free program that allows you to fill in forms that require repetitive entries like your name, age etc. It makes survey taking a lot faster.
4. Surveys can be irregular in frequency.
Surveys don’t come in everyday because it depends on the demand for them and how your profile fits their study. (Thus it is important to fill in as much details as possible so they can target surveys to you better). But this is mitigated if you register with a lot of companies listed in SurveyScout. The only downside to that is that you might take sometime in reaching your payout level.
5. Are you comfortable in giving your details?
Do note that even if companies have a non-disclosure policy, there is a still a small risk that your particular details might be leaked (address, employment, income bracket etc). You might not be comfortable with that. If so, be selective in registering with survey companies.
Survey taking is a huge industry due to the need for market research and statistical information. SurveyScout provides a good avenue for (1) companies to get targeted people to take surveys as well as (2) people to earn a source of income by taking them.
SurveyScout is just a middleman for this.
