Review and Test Of Online Advertisement Providers
Sometime back, I made a post on Bidvertiser and why I liked it. At the same time, I embarked on a little test on the performance of Bidvertiser so as to ascertain its payouts.
In the period from the 1st of October where i made the above post to today (30 days), I have clocked an amount of $1.72. My blog has clocked 2,805 unique hits during this time as well.
At the same time, I had Adsense running on another blog occupying a similar space and format. It clocked $13.48 with 1,864 unique visitors. Also in that blog, I had Adbrite running inline and full-page ads clocking $0.30.
Here’s the analysis:
- Bidvertiser – 0.0613 cents per unique visitor
- Adsense – 0.7231 cents per unique visitor
- Adbrite - 0.0161 cents per unique visitor
From the above, it does seem that being the biggest advertisement provider online does give a significantly larger payout. But of course, the above figures ought not to be taken just as it is. The figures are subject to various influences:
- My other blog might have content that provides more incentives for others to click on the ads.
- Relevancy of ads delivered by Bidvertiser might not be as good as Adsense
- Type of ads and their placements are different between Bidvertiser/Adsense and Adbrite
- Different types of visitors visit my 2 blogs
With all these in mind, I have devised a method to try to maximize my gains. As you would have seen, I have reverted back into Adsense but changing some format of my ads and their placement. At the same time, I have utilized Adbrite‘s inline and full-page ads because they will not interfere with Adsense’s ads. By doing this, I had to figure a way to circumvent around my previous problem where I had some issues with the fixed size of Adsense ads.
But monitoring the performance of my ads would not stop here. I will delve deeper by looking the psychology of people clicking ads and which part of my website attracts attention and clicks. I use a variety of tools to do that but here’s a free one that I would share with my readers: ClickTale.
Have fun using it and may you reap the most out of your ads as well.
